The HAIR APPARENT

Proctor and Gamble has purchased Frederic Fekkai from Catterton
Partners, a private equity firm (who helped develop the line). With
salons opening everywhere from SOHO to Greenwich, CT., the
Fekkai brand is poised for further growth in the luxury prestige hair
product arena.

MARIMEKKO
The label Marimekko has had a huge nod from H&M. The Marimekko
signature bright and bold prints and patterns will make up a 50 piece
collection of A-line tunics, dresses and pieces for men and women,
hitting stores on April 10. With bright's and prints making
a major splash this Spring, Marimekko is sure to capture a whole new
generation of fans!

DSQUARED2 will be the fashionable new designer shades to check out in Spring 2009. We may have to wait until next Spring but Dean and Dan Caten (the designers behind this Italian eyewear launch and Canadian
label) are sure to hit a high note in sunglass design with their bold
and fashion forward designs. By the way, the designers for Dsquared
Dean and Dan are twins!

MARCHESA
Georgina Chapman's beautiful line of gowns and dresses will also
include bridal dresses as part of the line's offerings. This will be a
fashionable and welcome addition to a hand full of designers (Vera
Wang, Monique L'Huiller, Badgley Mischka) who cater to betrothed
fashionistas across the globe. No word as to when the bridal dresses
will be available...we'll keep you posted on A Fashionable Life!

MOTHER NURTURE: Life lessons from the Mothers of America's Best and Brightest By Stephanie Hirsch
Stephanie Hirsch is an entrepreneur who started a line of gorgeous and
wearable resort clothes (bathing suits, cover ups) and chic, must have
home furnishings and accessories called Inca. Inca stores are opening
in New York and Miami. Stephanie is also a wife and mother. Her own
experience raising her son and the issues and questions raised through
the parenting process lead her to collecting these stories from mothers
of some of the most talented, gifted and visible people of our time.
From Lance Armstrong's Mom to Dr. Mehmet Oz's Mother, each chapter is a pearl of wisdom. A jewel of a book, you will want to give this to
anyone who has a mother, is a mother or are thinking of becoming one!

BULGARI and HERMES both reported strong increases in 2007! Due to the strong Asian markets, new store openings and diversified brands, these companies are the ones to watch. Both expect strong, if not stronger numbers in 2008.
