Fashion Week - Day 5
Jayne:
Today was the last day of Fashion Week and you could see everyone
was a little relieved. Eight days is a long time.... over
60 collections and more than 100,000 fashion/retail devotees
visited the tents this past week. We loved airing our show
live from the Moet & Chandon Lounge and if you missed
it, please listen to the podcast! Director of Communications
for BOOTS, Sandra Gabriele told us about the 150 year old
UK pharmacy and all their fantastic cosmetic/skincare brands.
We are hooked!
AT noon, Jen and I made our way to the Hammerstein Ballroom
on 34th Street to see the Tommy Hilfiger show. Tommy is one
of our favorite guys...........he is a neighbor here in CT
and a nicer bunch of people you will never find than at his
corporate office. The collection will be a huge hit in Europe
where the conservative preppy style reigns. The Sloan Ranger
girls in the UK and the kids in the 14th district in Paris
will also love it. It is feminine, frilly and a little flirty
with some of the best trench coats we have seen for the season.
Jen:
Today was the final chapter in the Spring '08 history book.
The book will be
defined by the location(which started off as questionable)
and ended up the
location for the next 2 years as per Fern Mallis Executive
Vice-President of
IMG on A Fashionable Life last Wednesday.
The shows that were most directional were:
Vera Wang - feminine, drapey, hues of gray
and purple.
Michael Kors - 70's chic. Think Marisa Berenson,
Jackie O and the women who personify unstudied cool.
BCBG - great dresses. Young Hollywood will
be sporting Max Azaria's Spring
frocks all over the Hills of Beverly!
Jayne
and I loved sharing airtime with our guests: Jarett Wieselman,
Lifestyle Director of InTouch Weekly, Sandra Gabriele,
Communications Director of Boots UK, Fern Mallis, IMG and
EVERYONE at Moet and Chandon and Nike Communications for the
fabulous venue for broadcasting the first two national broadcasts
of A Fashionable Life.
